چکیده
Emulsions stabilized by a mixture of emulsifiers may show tailored functionality depending on the compatibility employed. This was proposed in previous work dealing with distinct lipolysis kinetics citrus pectin (CP) and Tween 80 (TW80) based emulsions. CP provided fast high extent gastric lipid hydrolysis, TW80 presented negligible digestion emulsions mixtures intermediate kinetics. The current research aimed to investigate interfacial mechanisms underlying further understand encountered behavior fundamental basis. achieved monitoring tension measuring rheology layers during vitro using modified pendant drop technique. allowed correlation phenomena digestion. Two extremely different were observed when single versus for binary layers, importantly correlating results obtained These findings are discussed detail confirm that competitive adsorption between lipase (e.g. orogenic displacement) is key factor determining mixed emulsifiers.

Simulating the digestion of lipid-based drug delivery systems (LBDDS): overview of in vitro lipolysis models.
One of the greatest challenges in the pharmaceutical science is the improvement of oral bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs. Lately, one of the most attractive approaches has been formulation of lipid based drug delivery systems. However, the emerging popularity of these systems in the last decade has brought to light the need for efficient methods for their in vitro evaluation that would s...

متن کاملInterfacial mechanisms in active emulsions.
Active emulsions, i.e., emulsions whose droplets perform self-propelled motion, are of tremendous interest for mimicking collective phenomena in biological populations such as phytoplankton and bacterial colonies, but also for experimentally studying rheology, pattern formation, and phase transitions in systems far from thermal equilibrium. For fuelling such systems, molecular processes involvi...
متن کاملEffect of cellulose fine structure on kinetics of its digestion by mixed ruminal microorganisms in vitro.
The digestion kinetics of a variety of pure celluloses were examined by using an in vitro assay employing mixed ruminal microflora and a modified detergent extraction procedure to recover residual cellulose. Digestion of all of the celluloses was described by a discontinuous first-order rate equation to yield digestion rate constants and discrete lag times. These kinetic parameters were compare...
